1:1 Equine Therapy

Healing Through Connection

In partnership with The HERD Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, I offer Equine Therapy sessions at their stables in Delray Beach, FL.

Equine therapy creates a unique path to healing—one that blends mindfulness, nervous system regulation, and relationship-based learning in a safe, natural environment. Together, we use the wisdom of the horse-human connection to help you release old patterns, build trust, and reconnect with yourself in ways that traditional talk therapy can’t always reach.

There’s something deeply healing about standing beside a horse—feeling its steady breath, its grounded presence, and its quiet reflection of who you are in that moment.

Why Horses Are Powerful Partners in Healing

Horses are extraordinary teachers.

They live fully in the present moment, responding not to words, but to energy, intention, and authenticity. Their sensitivity to emotional states allows them to reflect what’s happening inside us—without judgment or expectation.

Horses live fully in the present. They sense truth, emotion, and energy long before words are spoken, offering a powerful mirror for your inner world.

Horses are capable of engaging in genuine, healthy connection and relationship. When we meet them with openness, they respond with presence, honesty, and trust. This relationship reaches beyond language—it’s felt on a level deeper than words.

Through this nonverbal partnership, you’ll begin to recognize how your body, breath, and emotions influence connection.

As you develop trust and mutual respect with the horse, you’re also learning how to create that same sense of balance and safety within yourself and in your relationships.

Horses support healing because…

They meet us in the present moment with honest, grounded connection. Their ability to form authentic, attuned relationships often speaks more deeply than any words could.

What Is Equine Therapy?

Equine therapy (also known as Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy) is a holistic, experiential form of therapy where horses become active partners in the healing process. You won’t be riding the horses—instead, you’ll engage with them through activities like grooming, leading, observing, and simply being in their presence.

Each session offers an opportunity to explore how you show up in relationships, how your body responds to stress, and how you can begin to create emotional safety, trust, and balance within yourself.

You’ll be guided through a process that integrates the principles of Natural Lifemanship, focusing on connection, communication, and emotional attunement between you and the horse.

How Equine Therapy Helps

Equine therapy supports healing on emotional, mental, and somatic levels. It’s particularly effective for those experiencing:

  • Anxiety and stress

  • Trauma and PTSD

  • Relationship challenges and attachment wounds

  • Boundaries and trust issues

  • Grief, depression, and life transitions

  • Emotional overwhelm or disconnection from self

The feedback from horses is immediate and honest—they respond to your authentic self, not the version you think you “should” be. Through this process, you’ll begin to notice how your energy, emotions, and body language influence connection and safety, both with the horse and within your own life.

What to Expect

Each session takes place at The HERD Foundation at 5135 Conklin Drive
Delray Beach, FL 33484. We’ll begin with grounding and intention-setting, then move into hands-on experiences with the horses. These interactions often reveal profound insights about communication, emotion, and boundaries—helping you cultivate greater awareness and self-regulation.

No horse experience is necessary. Every session is tailored to your comfort level and emotional needs. You’ll be fully supported as you explore what arises, always at a pace that feels safe and empowering.
